I would love to see a 'presets' feature! Also, I ran into a bug where when I use it on a sprite with an outline, the bottom and right outlines are cropped out/left out of the wave animation.

Hi, maybe It's been asked already, but If i wanted to give a "fiery aura" effect to something already animated (for example a walking character), how could I do that? How can i make so that the warping effect follows the legs moving? Thanks!

If you need an example I can email it to you or something.

Hi Pxalot! At the moment, the wave warp feature only works on a single frame image and generates the animation from that. It doesn’t yet support applying the effect across multiple existing frames in a layer, so it won’t follow something like a walking cycle.

As a workaround, you could try creating an aura that covers both legs (or the whole character), then apply the wave effect to that.

This is a really good idea though, I might consider adding support for this in a future update.

Also, my Reflecto plugin can create a wave/ripple effect on a selected layer and apply it across all frames. You might want to experiment with that, although it has limited control over the wave direction since it’s mainly designed for reflection effects.

Thank you, I'll give it a try!

Is it possible to add two separate effects? I can't seem to get it to work, and if not, would it be possible?

E.g. I'd love to do a 16 frame animation with sine AND smooth noise (on the same thing). Selecting the 16 frames from the first output and applying the second filter seems to just write over existing frames with the new effect (taken from first frame).

Hi dannybaws, thanks for reaching out! Yes, this is actually possible.

What you need to do is generate the first effect normally. After that, select the first cel again, apply the second effect, and generate it.

I've made a simple example, is this the effect you're looking for? If not, could you share an example or the steps you tried so I can better understand what you mean?

Hi dannybaws, sorry, I just realized the effects don’t stack right now. It doesn’t apply the wave effect across existing animated frames. Instead, it takes the selected cel and generates a new animation from that.

I’ll work on adding support for stacking effects in the next update. Thanks for your patience!

What extension are you using to Clone Cels?

Thanks for noticing. Its from Parallixel

Cool! I purchased it too now. Do you know an extension that adds a grid? I know Aseprite can add a grid but I want to add a second grid.

Hi! Thanks a lot 😊 I only know of this plugin for adding an isometric grid.

Thanks!I downloaded it now.

Man how can get wave fluid in loop? The loop is notaceble

Hi Usajyx,  thanks for the feedback! I tested it on my end and the loop looks fluid (after adjusting width, speed, frame count, and direction), but it might depend on the setup. Could you share how you’re using it so I can check what’s going on? Just a note: only the ‘smooth noise’ wave type won’t loop seamlessly since it’s assigned randomly.

this is really cool, though i wish the waves extended all the way with full screen sprites instead of having gaps

Thanks for the feedback. I’m actually working on improving and refining the extension further. Appreciate you pointing it out.

hello, its me again! i came back because i have a feature that would be cool to see in the plugin soon, having the ability to push the width and height sliders past 100 would be nice to see since its difficult to make seamless textures with the limits in place. also maybe being able select animation frames/cels to have the waviness applied to would be awesome to see too

Out of curiosity - does this come with the .ase containing the pole & rope?

Hi! Thanks for checking it out! 😊 The download only includes the Aseprite extension itself, the pole and rope assets aren’t included. But feel free to use your own or recreate something similar.

No worries - appreciate the heads up! Very interesting asset you've made though :)
